Why is First Community FCU introducing this program?

We’re excited to introduce this Member Advantage Program as a way to reward our member owners who utilize our services. The more a member participates by taking advantage of savings, loans, checking and e services, the more it helps our credit union (and ability to give back in terms of low cost services) grow!

How can I increase my rewards?

Simply by using First Community for all of your borrowing, savings and checking, you’re increasing your opportunity for rewards. Then, by adding direct deposit (at least $400 per month), home banking (at least 4 times each month) and MasterCard Check Card debits (at least 5 times each month), you are eligible for our highest reward level.

Where can I see what rewards are available?

You will be able to learn more about our reward levels by talking with any member service representative. Additionally, we’ll have information about what rewards are connected to member investor levels in our branches as well as 24 hours a day at www.1stcomm.org

How will I know my current rewards Level?

You will be able to obtain your current reward level by talking with any member service representative. Additionally, your reward information will be referenced on your monthly or quarterly statement. We look forward to also bringing information to you via our online home banking.

What If I have many accounts with First Community FCU?

You will receive the highest rewards by combining your accounts whenever possible. Rewards are based on your primary account number, and the relationships within that account. Talk to a member service representative about how we can help you achieve higher reward levels.

When are my rewards determined?

Each month, at the end of the month, your rewards are calculated to determine your next month’s rewards. An example – your relationships during June are calculated on June 30 to determine your rewards for July.

How often can my reward level change?

Each month, your reward level can go up (or down) based on the previous month’s relationship. In most cases, though, you will not see your relationship rewards decrease … especially when you maintain a consistent usage of valuable member services such as checking and direct deposit.

I just opened my account with First Community FCU. How does this program affect me?

As a new member, your account is placed in a “new member” reward level for a minimum of 90 days. At the time your account has exceeded 90 days, your new member rewards level will be established the next time eligibility is calculated.

My employer doesn’t offer Direct Deposit. What can I do to be eligible for Advantage Checking or Advantage Plus Checking?

The highest reward levels are based on having a minimum of checking and direct deposit (at least $400 per month) into your First Community FCU account. If your employer doesn’t currently offer direct deposit as an employee benefit, we urge you to have them contact us to learn more about the ease and benefits of this service. We may be able to help them get set up with a format that would allow you the benefits you deserve!

My rewards indicate “Free ATM Transactions”. Where can I use ATMs at no charge?

You are eligible to use any ATM (up to the designated amount within your reward level) without charge from First Community FCU. We urge you to use conveniently located First Community FCU or non surcharge Co Op Network ATMs. If you use an ATM the includes a surcharge fee from that ATM provider, you are still responsible for that fee.

What types of loans can I earn rate discount rewards?

Your rewards will be honored on new personal loans established after October 1, 2008 – if applied for at a time when your reward level receives this benefit. Loans not eligible for this benefit include lines of credit, credit cards, mortgages, home equity or business loans. Please note that this benefit may be limited or not in combination with other promotional discounts advertised throughout the year.

My rewards indicate Free Check Printing. How do I get free checks?

When you reorder checks through our Member Service Representatives (or mail in your reorder form to FCFCU), we will recognize your current reward level, which may allow for free check printing. This benefit will be limited to our First Community FCU branded check style, and you are allowed to order one box at a time without charge. If you reorder your checks online, this benefit may not be recognized and you may be charged for your check order. If this does happen, please contact us and we’ll be happy to refund your check printing charge (up the value of our First Community FCU branded check style).

My rewards indicate reduced price Visa Gift Cards. Are there any cases where I wouldn’t receive this benefit?

As long as you purchased your Visa Gift Card at any of our convenient branch locations, you will enjoy your Visa Gift Card reduced cost benefit. If you choose to order your Visa Gift Card online, you will not receive the discounted cost.

My rewards indicate no fee Credit Union Family Service Center transactions. Where are these located?

Visit us online at www.1stcomm.org for a link to Credit Union Family Service Center Transactions. I already have Certificates of Deposit with First Community FCU. Do those CD’s earn rewards? Only Certificates of Deposit that are opened on or after October 1, 2008 will be eligible for rewards connected to our Member Advantage Program.

I’m under age 25. Do I get special reward consideration?

If you happen to fall into a higher reward category naturally, you will enjoy the benefits of that reward level. If you do not, you will be automatically placed within our Growth Checking, Level 4 rewards level. Upon the first eligibility processing after your 25th birthday, you will begin to fall into a reward level based on your overall account relationship.

I’m over age 60. Do I get special reward consideration?

If you happen to fall into a higher reward category naturally, you will enjoy the benefits of that reward level. If you do not, you will be automatically placed within our Growth Checking, Level 4 rewards level upon the first eligibility processing after your 60th birthday.

I have a business account with First Community FCU. How does the Member Advantage Program work for me?

At this time, your business account relationship will fall outside of our Member Advantage Program. We look forward to introducing business member rewards in early 2009.

I was charged an account maintenance fee. What can I do to avoid this fee?

Review our rewards level criteria for a complete list of benefits you enjoy by increasing your relationship with First Community FCU. In order to avoid our monthly account maintenance fee, your relationship must have an aggregate balance (combined savings, checking and outstanding loans) of $500 or greater. Otherwise, your relationship must contain both an active checking account and direct deposit of $400 or more within each month.

My account isn’t indicating that I am currently earning rewards. Why might this be?

There are cases when a member falls outside of our current rewards program. If your account is a business account (including DBA accounts), if you have incurred to loss to the credit union by being delinquent on a loan payment, if you have a negative balance in any of your accounts, or if your account is dormant– with no activity for more than one year, your account will fall outside of our rewards program. We urge you to contact a member service representative to help us get you back involved with this valuable program.
