First Community Federal Credit Union is excited to announce the recipients of the 2009 Youth Scholarship.

This is the second year for First Community Federal Credit Union honoring our youth and community by recognizing High School graduates for their achievements. FCFCU awarded four, $2,500 scholarships, and ten $100 awards to the runner up winners. These well deserving seniors showed outstanding merit both personally and academically throughout their High School career. In addition, First Community Federal Credit Union also awarded the four scholarship winner’s High Schools, $1,000 to be used to enhance educational programs in their district..

The scholarship was open to any High School senior that currently attended school in one of ten counties that First Community Federal Credit Union serves. The criteria was based on academic merit, college acceptance, current enrollment in either a trade school or college program for the 2009 Fall semester, and active membership with FCFCU.  Each student was asked to write an essay explaining their personal and educational goals, and how this scholarship will help them achieve their goals.
